Save a Brat, Ride a Pimp
[re: “Display Case,” vol. 5 no. 41]

Anybody out there who has a couple dumb-ass preteen brats needs to take them to see Idiocracy. Immediately. Before it’s too late.

The film does all the right things: makes fun of pimps and Ebonics, wrestling and porn. It made a total mockery of American society….without telling us who to vote for.

To top it all off: the special effects looked horrible. Whether that was intentional or not, I don’t know. But it looked a MILLION times better than the revolving-door superhero CGI circus every summer shoves down our throats.

Cool Beans
[re: “A Bird, A Plane, A…Bean Bun?” vol. 5 no. 41]

I loved your warm-hearted article on anpanman. I grew up with this character as a child growing up in the U.S., and was never quite able to articulate and describe him as you have.
Thank you for providing me with one nolstalgic moment.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Hey, you got that slogan wrong.
It’s liquor in the front…
Because the other way round…
Whoo, yeeesh, blech…
No wonder you got taken.

Kurt,

That’s why I keep a toothbrush in the glovebox of my Mazda. You always gotta be ready if the situation turns serious.

Don’t Forget Those Breadsticks…
[re: “Schooled by Rock” vol. 5 no.41]

Even though he prefers not be to called Sir or Mr I can’t help but feel obligated to call my professor Mr. Stock. My name is Chris Eagan I am only one of many of Mr. Stock’s students at Loyola Marymount. I enjoyed the article and can tell you from experience that it is a pleasure to be involved in a alternative classroom design. Mr. Stock is always experimenting with new ways to teach and that diversion from monotony is refreshing. Creativty is the spice of life and Mr. Stock is the spicy pesto on the bland spagetti.

Security Blanket
[re: “Guards Demand Security” vol.5 no.40]

Hello,

I am a Criminal Justice student at Park University. Until I came across this article I didn’t know that there was not a Union for the security officer workforce. I think it is a good idea to establish one. It is not just to help minorities increase a standard of living, but also for the Security Profession. The author is right about the high turnover, there are so many security issues that can arise from untrained, unmotivated security employees. If these officers are expected to protect various companies’ million dollars worth of assets, the $8.00 per hour rate needs further review. Common Sense.
